In a short 4-month period I had the opportunity to go on three Celebrity Cruises! Lucky me! It afforded me an amazing opportunity to see what sailing on a Celebrity Cruise is all about.
So, yes or no to sailing with Celebrity Cruises? Well, it depends! Of course, finding the right cruise and the right cruise line that suits your needs is what makes or breaks your vacation. That’s what I’m here for – no matter the cruise line that works best for you!
For me, a resounding “Yes” to sailing with Celebrity! Of course, every cruise line has its ups and downs, strong and weak points and things that don’t quite sit right, but I will tell you that Celebrity shines when it comes to customer service. Hands down.
Let’s take a look at what it’s like to sail on Celebrity. They are known for their upscale and modern amenities, especially on their newer ships. I love the beds – especially the rounded corners eliminating those banged up knees and legs!
Everyone wants good food! The food is very good – even the buffet is just a step up from other cruise lines I have sailed with. Of course, they WANT you to experience their speciality restaurants, and I will say that the food in them is prepared at a higher level than in the main dining room and buffet – but you do pay for that experience, as with most cruise lines.
Entertainment wise, depending on the size of the ship, you will be able to see everything from Broadway style shows, to acrobatics, to amazing vocalists, pianists, and musicians all types. I really enjoy not only their nighttime, but even their daytime entertainment throughout the ship.
Want to wiggle your toes in real grass? Yup, you can on Celebrity! The top deck has a “Lawn Club” for everyone to enjoy – complete with mini golf and bocce balls and more and a large screen to watch your favourite movie under the stars.
Some ships have unique, one of kind experiences, like glass blowing! Dining in Le Petit Cheff is really an experience that shouldn’t be missed. The Silent Disco is always a hit, where you can dance the night away to music of your choosing, donning your own headset. One of my favourite places to enjoy is the martini bar!
Celebrity is well respected for its commitment to sustainability and this cruise line has made every effort to minimize its environmental impact.
They most certainly have not forgotten about the youth – their youth team are all well trained and licensed so it is perfectly safe to leave the kids with them so they can experience an excellent range of activities geared to their age group.
From an inside to a window to a balcony and “Beyond”. Celebrity, like most cruise lines, offer you the opportunity to choose the type of cabin best suited to you. Celebrity’s Edge class ships offer an experience like no other – their Infinite Balcony cabins. This room has window that opens, bringing the outside air inside. It has its pros and cons. Not a true “balcony” cabin, but the space is contained within the confines of your cabin offer the most unique of experience. Of course, their suites are so wonderfully laid out that you just can’t feel like you are truly spoiling yourself. Taking advance of the Concierge service, Aqua Class staterooms and butler service and the Retreat leave you feeling like you really are a “Celebrity”. Absolutely wonderful!!
Sail on a Celebrity ship? I would – again!
